From Everything Lost to Everything Gained

The Pisharodi family lost their home and belongings due to a fire at the end of a complete remodel. They came to the Nora Design Studio in partnership with John Paul Construction of McAllen Texas to begin the process to rebuild. After several meetings and long conversations it became clear that the only way to put this tragedy behind them was to build the home of their dreams.

“From the kids’ vanity appliqué to the stove mantle, every room has a story to tell. Rosettes, appliqués, onlays … every item I needed, White River had it. At one point we had decided the molding looked so majestic we didn’t want to paint it. I love working with White River’s product. Furniture, headboards, and accessories built with White River has given me an edge with my clients.” – Nora Sandoval

A large acanthus crown is featured in a large combination detail at the top of the cabinetry and the coffered ceiling above. The scrolls of the backsplash are echoed in the beautifully hand-carved Rangehood, flanked by acanthus corbels.

There is a grand feeling of opulence with so many complementary mouldings in the ceiling beams, coffers, on the walls and added to cabinetry.

A beautiful scrolled onlay and scrolled feet help create a custom look at the end of the kitchen.

Further embellishments on a bathroom vanity include hand-carved swags, a laurel center, and elegant corner feet.

The master bathroom is a work of art with hand-carved palmette mouldings, square capitals with acanthus onlays, and large turned acanthus posts on the island.
