One of our Best of Best Winners for the Kitchen & Bath category is Joan O’Brien with Craft-Maid Kitchen. This lovely kitchen is part of a home situated in a five-acre wooded site in McLean, VA.
ALM Builders of Fairfax, VA constructed the 12,000 square foot home, which has views from every window. But the 900 square foot kitchen is centered in a dark space, creating a bit of a challenge.

With custom touches and light cabinetry, a beautiful space was created that matched the natural views outside.
White River mouldings helped turn these cabinet units into custom pieces of furniture.
Hand-carved corbels, CRV5253 and CRV5292, are painted and glazed to bring out the scrolling details.
White River’s embossed and MonReale mouldings visually support larger onlays and embellishments. Casing – CA31, Baseboard – BA46, DS110, Crown above Rangehood – CM76, Other mouldings – FR8920, PM535.
Beautiful details and design! Elegant Kitchens have a great mixture of paint/stain surfaces while enhancing the details and focal areas. Adding decorative mouldings, large corbels and carvings to key areas add value and furniture qualities to the cabinets.
So tasteful that the large stained ‘furniture’ piece is completely complimentary to the rest of the kitchen..so many tasteful uses of ornament, creating mulitple focal points..
