The winning projects are featured in the July/August issue of residential design build.

The Project: DROMBORG

Dromborg CastleThe DROMBORG Castle is located in Northwest Arkansas, a 13,000-square-foot private residence is a reminiscent of an old English/Scottish castle.

The clients demanded heavy mouldings and millwork, and custom hand-carved panels, frieze mouldings and corbels. One specific use of the home was to host philanthropic events with up to 200 guests. Challenges included carrying classically inspired details throughout the home, locating stock and custom hand-carved mouldings and wood carvings.

The architect and interior designer established a strong footprint of rubbled castle design and proportioned classical detail from 200 B.C. Rome to a modern-day castle. White River engineered and manufactured all millwork, mouldings, corbels, curved work and doors.
