Welcome to the White River Project Showcase. Each quarter we will showcase a project that our design team recognizes as a standout for incorporating mouldings and millwork into a new construction or remodeling project. Our third project showcase is a beautiful Victorian estate, dubbed "Sea Alissa" is located in the Cayman Islands overlooking the Caribbean Sea. White River's Design Services created ornate moulding and carving combinations in many areas with the focus on the Dining Room and Foyer.

The Project: THOMPSON RESIDENCE

This beautiful Victorian estate, dubbed "Sea Alissa" is located in the Cayman Islands overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The clients envisioned an elegant interior with a romantic flair that showcased their art collection, exquisite crystal light fixtures, as well as beautiful millwork and carvings.

White River's Design Services created ornate moulding and carving combinations in many areas with the focus on the Dining Room and Foyer. The Dining Room was a key area for entertaining. A combination of deep-relief mouldings, featuring acanthus leaves and scrolls, accented the tray ceiling with 2 crystal chandeliers. The Dining Room also housed the entrance to the wine cellar, ionic columns flanked the entrance along with a header comprised of hand-carved grape motifs.

The 3-story Foyer touted a marble staircase and intricately detailed iron railing. The front entry door, as well as a 2nd story window with a picturesque view of the sea, were important features. Both applications utilized ionic capitals to match the Wine Cellar entrance, and resin mouldings were used to mould the curved arches.

The client chose a tone-on-tone approach to the color of the millwork and walls. A soft glazing and antiquing brought out amazing detail and texture. White River's Design Services utilized stock products as well as custom mouldings to help create an interior that exudes romantic elegance and charm.
