Ultra-Flex Resin Mouldings/Solid Wood Curved Mouldings

Ultra-Flex is the most advanced product in the industry for flexible moulding applications and can be manufactured for all of White River's™ profiles. It will cut and nail the same as its wood counterpart and is manufactured with a latex-based primer coat — ready to stain, paint, or glaze.

Ultra-Flex mouldings are extremely easy to install and require no special adhesives or pre-drilling. Ultra-Flex can be installed in the field by qualified tradesmen using nail guns and other standard installation tools and techniques. Ultra-Flex advantageously compensates for any irregularities in the radius of the wall while costing only a fraction of its wood counterpart.

  • Solid Wood Curved Mouldings can be manufactured for Casings, Jambs and Panel Moulds. These are offered in Poplar, Red Oak, Cherry, Mahogany, and other species — where only solid wood will work due to stainability or personal preference. These are offered for traditional or embossed profiles.
  • Ultra-Flex mouldings can be manufactured for Crown, Case, Base, Chairrail and Panel Mouldings. Ultra-Flex mouldings can be stained or painted and will offer a cost savings over solid wood. Due to manufacturing constraints, certain mouldings, which are suitable for curved wall applications are only available in Ultra-Flex.
  • Ultra-Flex is available in lengths from 5' to 12' and only available by the whole foot.
  • Ultra-Flex can be used for interior and exterior work. When used as exterior trim, opulent applications can be applied with complete weatherability.
  • Original Ultra-Flex moulds are cast from Poplar. See pricelist for those available in Red Oak. Customer is responsible for mould charges when a mould has not yet been cast.

Information For Ordering Curved Mouldings

  1. Casings — Solid Wood or Ultra-Flex
    1. True half-circle — radius or diameter
    2. Arch (eyebrow or segment) rise and span or template
    3. Ellipse - template always
    4. Moulding number, species, lengths, and count
  2. Backbands — Solid Wood or Ultra-Flex
    1. Radius on main casing that backband is to attach to
    2. Type of curves (arch, ellipse, half-circle and information under Casings)
    3. Moulding number, species, lengths, and count
  3. Crowns — Ultra-Flex only
    1. Is wall concave or convex?
    2. Radius of wall
    3. Piece count and length of moulding needed (add 20% for waste)
    4. Moulding number, species, lengths, and count
  4. Baseboards — Ultra-Flex only
    1. If Baseboards are being used as Baseboards or as part of a Crown detail on a wall, then Baseboards do not need to be pre-cast to any radius. They are sold straight and only total lineal footage is needed.
    2. If Baseboards are used as Casing or as part of a Crown detail where they lay out on the ceiling and not on the wall, see information under Casing will be needed.
  5. Lineal Moulds, Friezes and Chairrails — Ultra-Flex only
    1. If these are used horizontally on curved walls, they will not need to be pre-cast. Only lineal footage is needed. To use as Casing, refer to Casing information.
  6. VI. Panel Moulds — Solid Wood or Ultra-Flex
    1. Solid wood Panel Mouldings can be manufactured for flat wall arch panels, clipped corners, and other paneled wall effects.
    2. If Panel Moulds are to be used on a curved wall application, Ultra-Flex profiles are a suitable product.
